Peace and Security

Peace and Security! Everyone is saying peace and security! The US government is saying peace and security. The UN is saying peace and security. The EU is saying peace and security. The Middle East is saying peace and security. The Palestinians and the Israelis are saying peace and security. The global religious leaders are saying peace and security. Why does everyone demand peace and security? Because people want freedom from the fear of an “unexpected” death. But guess what? Unexpected or not, everyone dies. Then it is Judgment Day and we stand before the holy and righteous creator God, to Whom we will all have to give an account. Then what? So we get our long planned, man created, global “peace and security”, then what? What about after your death- then where will your peace and security be? Let me tell you about the real peace and security. There is only peace; there is only security, in God Almighty, the Lord, the one true God, the God who created heaven and earth, and all mankind.

It is appointed for men to die once and then the judgment. Why judgment? God is holy. Man is sinful to the core and morally bankrupt. Sin is evil. Man’s sin is against God, and man is in rebellion against God, breaking His law. Making other things ‘god’ in our heart, worshiping other gods, worshiping the earth, worshiping men, and other created things. Blaspheming His holy name, disregarding Him, dishonoring Him, hating Him, rebelling against Him, dishonoring parents, murder and hate in our heart, immoral sex, rape and adulterous lust in our heart, lying, envy, greed, selfishness, refusing to believe in God, even though you know He is there, drunkenness, unthankfufness, witchcraft, sorcery, drugs, outbursts of anger, self righteousness and pride. Our willful sin, our willful rebellion and our prideful self -justification will condemn men on the Judgment Day.

But God Himself provides the real peace and security for us so that we do not have to be judged for our sins against Him and found guilty. In His mercy and grace, God has lovingly provided for us the payment of our sins against Him, so that we will not have to be found guilty and condemned on the Day of Judgment. He has done this through the death and resurrection of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Unlike us, Jesus Christ is righteous and sinless. His death on the cross; the shedding of the innocent blood of Christ, Yeshua the Messiah, this is the payment for our sins, the judgment of God against our sins. Jesus took this judgment that we deserve, and paid for sins with His blood. The world stands condemned and will perish, but Jesus said, “He who hears my word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life and does not come into judgment but has passed out of death into life.”

He shed His blood on the cross to give us true peace and security. Peace with God, and security against the righteous holiness of God’s justice and judgment. This is love! This is mercy! This is God’s grace He gives to us sinners. This is God’s gift of forgiveness and salvation. This is God’s peace and security. God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. In Christ alone, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. In Him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. The Lord God says, of those who trust Him, “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Only Jesus can provide the real peace and security because Jesus is God.

Repent and believe, and turn to the peace giver, Jesus Christ, who purchased peace and security for you with His own blood poured out on the cross. He that believes on the Son has everlasting life; and he that does not believe the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on him. Trust in Jesus Christ as the judgment against your sin, and you will have peace and security with God in Jesus Christ, forever, whether you live or die.

Jesus Christ is the real peace and security. For Thou alone O Lord does make me to dwell in safety. Safety is of the Lord. The Lord will bless His people with peace. We have peace with God though our Lord Jesus Christ.
